Schools are an important emergency resource during a community disaster. In most school districts of the county, every school has an outdoor antenna installed, in case the school sees emergency use, such as a shelter. Amateurs may be dispatched to schools. This list is to help an amateur radio operator find the school, and once there, the antenna feedline access point (the "drop"). (Note that the Santa Clara Thomas Guide atlas lists school address, phone number, and map coordinates, in the Points of Interest section. While the Thomas Guide does not mention antennas, it is much more complete than this list.)The feedlines have a PL259 plug (UHF series), unless otherwise noted. Some feedlines connect to a wall-mounted jack. The ham operator needs to bring any adapter required, and should also bring a short coax patch cord. (If the patch cord also serves as the UHF/BNC adapter, remember a UHF barrel connector.) Many handheld radios would require a PL259 to BNC adapter.
